Ava Leigh or just Ava (she answers to both billings) hails from Chester, but you sure wouldn’t know it. Here, the young stunner mashes up a big reggae-based summery R&B vibe that could give people like Rihanna a real run for their dollars.

On the surface 'La, La La' sounds like innocuous chart fodder but hang on in there. Sweet, skanking beats, a well-sung catchy melody and a repetitive chorus- in other words, it’ll worm its way into your head long before you can say Marcia Griffiths. But listen on and you’ll hear a whole lot more; it’s an angry love song about the difficulty of wanting out.

The B-side, 'Breathe' is more straightforward though, again, the message (this time an ecological one) demands a listen.
